Our World Tuesday: Sunday cleared up for a walk

A few trees are beginning to change into their fall clothes.
ourworldtDSCN6570
Most are still wearing summer greens.
ourworltDSCN6576
It rained cats and dogs on Saturday.
ourworltDSCN6577
On Sunday the sun came out for a walk but there were plenty of puddles.
ourworltDSCN6583
A few wildflowers are still blooming although most have gone to seed.
ourwortDSCN6594
I was surprised to see a Great Egret. Great Blue Herons have been at the creeks and lakes near my house for a long time but this is the first time I've spotted a Great Egret. She looks like she's sitting on an egg although its the reflection of her lower body.
ourwortDSCN6623
I like the subtle changes in colors on the trees.
ourwortDSCN6636
The creeks are flowing fast after all the rain.
ourwortDSCN6646
Although there are only a few leaves falling at this point soon they will be everywhere.
ourwortDSCN6650
The light is changing more and more though hard to describe the changes.
ourwotDSCN6571
I'm reminding myself to enjoy the green while waiting for more reds and yellows.
ourwotDSCN6648
I like the dappled light on the path.
ourwrtDSCN6601
One thing I enjoy this time of the year is how individual leaves that have changed colors pop out where soon the individuals are lost in the masses.
ourwtDSCN6604
There's something amazing to me about how trees can hold on along creek and river banks.

SkyWatch Friday: Late September Skies

Tuesday night the moon was glowing brightly.
skywatfmDSCN6532
The next shot doesn't show the details as well but captures the glow better.
skywatfDSCN6540
One more shot of the moon where you can see the features but not much of the circle of light that was so mesmerizing.
skywatfDSCN6539
The next two shots are of the rising moon before the sun set on Monday night.
skywatfmDSCN6498
It's nice to get at least a few moon shots when the cloud cover doesn't hide it.
skywatfmDSCN6496
We are continuing to have lots of clouds although slightly less rain.
skywfDSCN6423
I like to capture reflections of clouds in the lake.
skywfDSCN6421
I think the lighting in the next shot makes the lake look frozen.
skywatfDSCN6413
More blankets woven with clouds.
skywatfDSCN6403
Also some bands of clouds that look like unwoven tufts of cotton wool.
skywatfDSCN6401
A few trees have dropped their leaves.
skywatfDSCN6399
I'm looking forward to bare branches of winter.
skywatfDSCN6398
Before bare branches it will be nice to have colorful fall leaves.
skywfDSCN6386
I like the different textures clouds provide against the sky.
skywfDSCN6385
It amazes me how many different forms clouds take.
skywafDSCN6388
It's as if someone is crossing the sky with a paint brush.

ABC Wednesday: K is for Kitty

The kitty cats in my neighborhood know that my house is a good spot for birdwatching.
abcwedkittyDSCN4543
I prefer that the kitties hang out with inanimate birds like the hummer above.
001abcwedkitDSCN2514
I don't like the kitties to annoy the birds in the nesting box, under my roof eaves, by watching them from my back stoop like the kitty above is doing. His reaction to my attitude is demonstrated in the next shot.
abcwedkittyDSCN3505
Our city has an ordinance that kitties are supposed to stay in their own houses and yards but the kitties are so comfortable in my yard they climb on my car.
abcwedkittyDSCN6245
When I used to have two dogs at my house the kitties weren't as comfortable straying into my yard.
001abcwedkittyDSCN6295
Since I no longer have any dogs at my house, all the neighborhood kitties wander around my yard as if its their own.

Our World Tuesday: Sunday Walk

One of the reasons I wanted to walk at the lake on Sunday was because the clouds were spectacular and I thought they'd be wonderful reflected in the water.
ourwortDSCN6410
I had to laugh when all the clouds were behind me and the sky was solid blue standing on the dam facing the water.
ourworltDSCN6420
Once I got to the bridge there were some reflections of the clouds in the water.
ourwortDSCN6424
Also, looking through the trees on the wooded parts of the trail there were clouds reflected but the spectacular clouds I had seen before starting our walk.
ourwortDSCN6428
A few leaves are beginning to change colors but most are green.
ourwortsDSCN6429
Nice seeing some wildflowers still blooming.
ourwrtDSCN6431
There were a few geese and ducks but not as many in sight as there usually are.
ourworltDSCN6416
As we were coming out of the woods on the far side of the lake across from the bridge, I thought I hear people singing. Bill said, it's probably the geese. However, when I zoomed in on the bridge I think I spotted the chorus.
ourworldtDSCN6437
I was glad we had crossed the bridge a good fifteen minutes or so before the singing crowd arrived.
