Monochrome Monday: Crossroads Trickster

If anyone wants to see a full color shot of Crossroads/Trickster by Martha Jarvis, I have one in my picsa album here. This work marks the crossroad of trails at the NC Museum Park and I chopped it in half for this shot to show details of the structure. It sort of looks like a giant ear of corn to me from a distance.

To find other participants, Aileni hosts Monochrome Monday at Loose Ends.

  1. What an unusual object - there must be on a 'spike' deeply bedded in the ground. Lends itself to B&W.

  2. I agree with aileni...quite interesting as it appears to be sitting on a pointed end. Mine's up now! :D

  6. Thanks so much to everyone for visiting. Someone asked what the work is made of. It's brick, steel, mortar, glass tile, stone.

  7. It must be an original work!
More unusual in B&W than with its colors. Well done.

  9. Wow very neat! And there is much detail in this picture. I love the working truck in the background. It has a wonderful rural feeling.

  11. The geometry just seems all wrong for that thing to be standing. Which museum is this? The surroundings sort of look like it could be the NCMA on Blue Ridge Rd.
