  10. I stayed some where in Scotland that had a giant chess like that, and you could play it. Too bad I really stink at that game. Great shot.

  23. Thanks so much to everyone for visiting. Someone asked where this garden is located. It's in Chapel Hill, NC. I also post shots from the arboretum in Raleigh, NC and from Duke Gardens in Durham, NC although so far those are mostly on my other blog.

  25. Hi Carver, great photo. I saw a larger than life chess board when visiting my sister. She lives in Germany and there was a hotel with a set that people could actually move around and play. I think it was in Freiburg. Not sure of the spelling.

  26. Well, it had me wordless. I opened my mouth with awe and could not close it! Great shot, Carver! Funny I passed a house that has bricks on the front porch forming a rail that has white cement cutouts that look like pawn pieces of a chess set. I couldn't park to take a photo but I hope to soon...
