I bow to you! I have tried to get shots of these creatures in the wild and have never been able to pull it off. They're elusive little buggers. I came close once in the mountains, but they got away anyhow.
Congratulations on a great capture of a rare quarry!
'Tis the season. Turkeys seem to be everywhere, ... although come to think of it they may not be out west. We have them down here in south Florida, wild ones, but not many.
Wild turkeys are so funny looking .. do you know the cartoonist Al Capp had a 'character' called a Schmoo ... and they were patterned after wild turkeys.

NOTE - I have recently had issues where some comments don't show up in my blog but I am receiving all of them through email. The blooger hiccup seems to be fixed but I'm going to leave this note up so I don't jinx it.
What a strange bird!
ReplyDeleteIt's a perfect subject for . . .Thanksgiving ; )
Beware, she's looking at you with a weird eye, now.

Wils he looks livid. Seriously hard to catch wild birds, well done.
ReplyDeleteAww cute....looks like he's trying to get away from you before thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteHi Carver,
ReplyDeleteGreat capture!
I haven't seen any around my property for a few weeks now - maybe they're hiding.
Despite the 'noisy' background, the turkey stands out due to the 'just nice' lighting! Whoa, good shot, Carver!

ReplyDeleteThe bird looks a little concerned because you caught it crossing a path. Good one.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot! And a real contrast with the previous post too!
ReplyDeleteWonderful to see them in their natural habitat.
ReplyDeleteCool! I have yet to catch a wild turkey with my camera. ;-)
