That's My World Tuesday: Crabtree Trail

In my opinion there are too many malls and shopping centers in Raleigh, NC, U.S. where I live. I hate the traffic and congestion and don't enjoy shopping that much. However, there is a rather pleasant trail that starts a few miles from my house where I can walk on foot to Crabtree Valley Mall.

Instead of driving to the mall, and looking for a parking spot, I can walk along Crabtree Creek and look at reflections in the water.

There are paths under the road and bridges over the water. Generally I don't see too many people on the path.

I can soak up some beauty before entering into the dreaded mall. I'm exaggerating. I don't hate malls that bad but I do hate parking that bad so arriving on foot with a backpack is so much nicer than driving.

  4. Walking in nature with your camera is cheap entertainment and way more fun than shopping any day...at least according to me. ;-

  5. I wouldn't be exaggerating if I said I hated malls and shopping. But getting to one on a path like this might make it worth the trip!

  9. Great way to get to the mall like we seem to need to do once in awhile. Would kind of limit spending too, only what you can carry home. Beautiful way to save money.

  10. Much nicer than my route to the mall, which involves interstate highway.

Even without a destination, this would be a lovely place for a walk.

  13. You right malls and parking aren't as much fun as the trip there, well at least in your case.

  15. What a lovely walk you took us on, and as for malls i hate them so will not find me there but maybe once a yr. Like this yr i have gone into one of our malls just after x-mas to Sears and that was it, didn't buy a thing.

  24. Well this'll tell you how long it's been since I went to the "dreaded mall". I know exactly where in the parking lot this trip ends, but I don't ever remember seeing that foot bridge before!

And if this is the trip from your house, you can't live more than a mile or maybe two from me! I thought you were further north...
