In my opinion there are too many malls and shopping centers in Raleigh, NC, U.S. where I live. I hate the traffic and congestion and don't enjoy shopping that much. However, there is a rather pleasant trail that starts a few miles from my house where I can walk on foot to Crabtree Valley Mall.
Instead of driving to the mall, and looking for a parking spot, I can walk along Crabtree Creek and look at reflections in the water.

There are paths under the road and bridges over the water. Generally I don't see too many people on the path.

I can soak up some beauty before entering into the dreaded mall. I'm exaggerating. I don't hate malls that bad but I do hate parking that bad so arriving on foot with a backpack is so much nicer than driving.

Your world of reflections and nature trail and today is stunning and reminds me of my own beloved nature reserve. Island life for me.
ReplyDeleteCarver: Thanks for sharing this neat little walk to the mall. You are lucky to have it.
ReplyDeleteGreat post and photo's!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your part of the world with us!!
Walking in nature with your camera is cheap entertainment and way more fun than shopping any day...at least according to me. ;-
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be exaggerating if I said I hated malls and shopping. But getting to one on a path like this might make it worth the trip!
ReplyDeleteThanks for getting us away from the malls and into a beautiful envrionment.
ReplyDeleteNow that is the way to go to the mall. Glad you have that place within walking distance.
ReplyDeleteHappy 2009.
Im with you on that Carver, a stroll through the wood and countryside, cant beat it esp if you hace a camera in your hands.
ReplyDeleteGreat way to get to the mall like we seem to need to do once in awhile. Would kind of limit spending too, only what you can carry home. Beautiful way to save money.
ReplyDeleteMuch nicer than my route to the mall, which involves interstate highway.
ReplyDeleteEven without a destination, this would be a lovely place for a walk.
that is awesome that you can do that i used yo do that in Ohio too but here it is a5 miles which might take a bit too long:) but your photos and trip are so lovely
ReplyDeleteYour mall is so close to nature! Lovely shots!
ReplyDeleteYou right malls and parking aren't as much fun as the trip there, well at least in your case.
ReplyDeleteNice shots!
What a fine way to go to the mall! Very nice area (and no parking problem this way :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely walk you took us on, and as for malls i hate them so will not find me there but maybe once a yr. Like this yr i have gone into one of our malls just after x-mas to Sears and that was it, didn't buy a thing.
ReplyDeleteSome of us have a secret place where we enjoy being alone...very peaceful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice way to go shopping, even I could be persuaded to go now and then, well , maybe then. Mostly though just to walk with my camera.
ReplyDeleteThese are all fine shots, and I love the first one!
ReplyDeleteNow that is the perfect way to go to the mall! What an absolutely gorgeous view you had on your walk. Your photos are wonderful.

What an awesome post. Great photos and very nice reminder of the beauty that surrounds us.
ReplyDeleteGreat place. I sure want to visit it one day.
ReplyDeleteLucky you can have such a lovely walk to your mall, Carver! Thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteWell, that's neat that you have this little area to walk.... a little oasis.
ReplyDeleteI just wish we had a mall!! LOL
Well this'll tell you how long it's been since I went to the "dreaded mall". I know exactly where in the parking lot this trip ends, but I don't ever remember seeing that foot bridge before!
ReplyDeleteAnd if this is the trip from your house, you can't live more than a mile or maybe two from me! I thought you were further north...
looks like a wonderful place to take a walk, a break from the everyday rush
ReplyDeletethe 1st shot is just perfect!
