Monochrome Monday: NC Museum Park

To find other participants, please visit the home of Monochrome Monday.

Update - Several of the comments have mentioned the chimney so I thought I'd add this information about it. Until 2000 this circular brick tower served as a smokestack for the power plant of the former Polk Youth Center prison. Most of the prison buildings have been torn down, but the Museum kept the tower because it is like a monument on the horizon.

  11. To me the smoke stack acted like a second trunk to the tree. A nice effect.

  16. Cool shot, a bare tree always lends itself well to black and white.

  17. I was just driving by there weekend before last and wondering why they'd left that in place after everything else was torn down. And I remember thinking at the time that you'd probably know.

    How weird is that?
