My World Tuesday: Watching the Fishing (NC - US)

I haven't fished since I was a child but I photographed human and bird fishing at Shelley Lake which is near my house in the triangle area of North Carolina (U.S.).

There are largemouth bass, catfish, sunfish, bream, crappie and carp in the lake according to the city website.

I enjoy watching birds fish and occasionally see them with a fish in their mouth but I've never caught a shot like that.

To visit other parts of the world, please go to the home of That's My world Tuesday.

  1. These are great. That gent on the dock looks like he is in heaven itself.

We watched a bird fish when we were in NC last week--we watched many, actually, and saw one succeed. That was amazing. Your photos are wonderful.

If you don't mind I would like to write some words from a Portuguese Poet "Fernando Pessoa"that I love so much:
"...Spend more time doing that dreaming,
    making that planning,
    living that waiting
Because, although who is almost dead be alive,
who now lives almost died. "

  5. I too would rather take photos and watch other people fish than to actually do the fishing myself :D

  6. A nice meditative place to get in some quiet fishing. You don't necessarily have to catch anything.

  12. Wouldn't mind sitting on the dock with my toes in the water. Wouldn't need the fishing pole to justify it either! Great photos.

  34. This is so weird. If you'd taken this shot about 15 years ago, that could've been me. I used to go down there (in just about that very spot on that very dock) now and then and get a line wet. Never saw anything but some crappie and bluegill though. If there are bass in that lake, they're well hidden.

Nice catch on the gull. They're tough to catch in flight like that.

Now that I think of it, I've posted shots of that boat rental shack too.
