Thanks so much to everyone for visiting. To answer the question about what it is, it's a great blue heron. I may be slow visiting because I'm going to be away from my computer for a work project but will try to visit as many as possible this evening.
Carver, what an awesome close up of this Heron! I have been trying for 3 weeks now to sneak out and get a picture of one that comes to our pond each day. It's not easy to do even with my 400.
As soon as the door opens he flies! Wow, I am very impressed you got this shot!!

A gorgeous bird. Is it a blue heron? We get them in our yard sometimes or flying overhead, but never seem them so close up. Happy WW
