This week I'm taking you on a photo walk the same place (Shelley Lake) I took you last week but these shots were taken this Sunday.
Funny how it turned out that both weeks were pretty cold and wet but ended up with a nice Sunday for walking.
This past week was my least favorite weather. It was raining and right around freezing but at least it stayed a degree or two above freezing except at night, so we didn't have ice storms.
It definitely motivates me to walk when the sun comes out and the weather improves.
The seagulls are continuing to act like a convention has been called for them to congregate.
They are incredibly noisy too.
I'm not seeing as many geese or ducks but that will shift in spring when the gulls leave for other nesting places and the geese and heron take over the lake.

What a great capture of the light glowing behind the gull's wings. Your photos are all beautifully illuminated. Chilly but no snow sounds very good, Carver!
ReplyDeleteOh, Carver, I do love your photos! I love the one with all the birds! They look like they're having a great party! Hope you have a great week! Enjoy!

But it's so nice and bright!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
ReplyDeleteA lovely seagully post. Delightful in flight capture too.
ReplyDeleteCold and moist is not much fun, either crisp cold or a gentle warmth but not that nasty bone -chilling wettness around freezing point.
Great series of photos. Your first shot is gorgeous. What a beautiful area, I enjoyed the walk.
ReplyDeleteI love your lake. It´s always so quite there. No storms or waves!? Awesome capture of the seagull!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week!

ReplyDeleteit may be cold but at least the sun was out and the sky was blue! Looks like a great place for a walk!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely blue skies! Really shows freedom, both because of the blue and the birds flying freely!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos of the lake. It odes look like anice place to walk. The first gull shot is pretty.
ReplyDeleteWonderful captures along your walk, they take me there with you virtually, thanks. :)
ReplyDeleteFantastic shots. You have captured the birds in action very nicely.
ReplyDeleteWhat a conference! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLovely place to walk and lucky you no ice! I miss Seagulls, so enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteCarver..What a spectacular series of gorgeous shots of nature at its best. I cannot select a favorite in this group. They are all just so beautiful. Thanks for sharing your photos and your interesting commentary.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful place! I love that shot of the bird on the wing. All the birds around here packed their bags months ago. I don't even know where to send them a postcard.
ReplyDeleteCarver...I had to let you know that that lovely piece of work behind the truck for sale is a trailer. There are 4 trailers just a tad bit up the road from us out here in the country, and one of owners or renters obviously needed moolah!!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful images of your world..the first of gull in flight ...beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful world and pictures.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful world of yours. Lovely scenery and gorgeous reflections on the rivers. Very serene and calm. What a wonderful place to be.
ReplyDeleteI have a bit of a fondness for gulls and really like that you call them "gulls" not "segulls" (in even hurts to type it!!!)
ReplyDeleteReally like the first picture.
cheers Stewart M.
