That's My World Tuesday: Sunday Crossing Town

Bill and I have gotten in the habit of walking on Sundays, usually at one of the lakes near by.

This Sunday, we drove across town to Lake Johnson and since Bill was driving I was photographing from the car.

The first two shots were taken on Peace Street (Raleigh NC). The shot above is of Needham Broughton High School.

The shot above was taken as we turned left from Hillsborough St. and cut through North Carolina State University (NSCU).

After our walk we drove past the movie theatre on avent ferry Rd. and I shot the wall art on the building.

We had lunch in the seafood Restaurant at the Farmer's Market and I photographed the car we parked next to.

Heading home we were once again on Hillsborough St. and I took a shot of the NCSU bell tower.

When we reached Wake Forest Rd. I took a shot of the funky building below.

  1. It sounds as if you had a delightful day. Love the murals! I'm vicariously enjoying life in a snow-free landscape.

  2. The lake area looks utterly peaceful, Carver! And the wall art adds a little intrigue to the buildings. The top photo, in particular, appears multi-dimensional so that it is not easy to tell where the paint leaves off and real shadows begin. Thanks as always for sharing your wonderful world. :)

  9. what a lovely day you had. the car is fabulous. my husband was telling me yesterday that someday he'd love to own one of those classic cars. i reminded him that gas prices are in the neighborhood of $4 now, so he says he'll put a prius engine to it instead :)

    have a great week.

Great to see the sights along your route and the wall paintings on those large, otherwise blank, walls.

  16. What a lovely, free and comfortable drive! The first photo is my favorite among a nice series of images. The shadows of wires, roof lamps, bars of balcony, a chair... add interesting patterns together with the pattern of wall art to the building. Or, do I have optical illusion?

  19. Howdy Neighbor! I live in Southwest Raleigh. In fact, my back yard backs right up against the woods that surround Lake Johnson. Many of the photos on my blog (Fascination Earth) are taken in this area. I'll have to keep my eyes open for that unique vehicle!
