SkyWatch Friday: Quickly Changing Skies

Monday was almost like summer with bright blue skies and warm temperatures.

I had to work at my office in Durham instead of from home as I usually do which gave me some different views during lunch.

It was very windy but since it was warm the wind felt good.

I knew a cold front was going to blow through that night and bring storms which it did.

Driving to work Tuesday morning the traffic was not only stalled for HOURS but they ended up closing the highway I was on, and I had to find an alternate route.

By the time I took a break after I finally made it to the office, it had stopped raining and the sky was a mix of clouds and blue.

It was amazing how fast the weather changed and how pretty the sky became.

I had fun walking around and taking pictures before going back inside for some tedious work.

The drive home was pleasant and the opposite of the ordeal of driving to work.

Wednesday was a beautiful day. Chilly but sunny.

As much as I prefer working at home, sometimes I do like the different photo ops I get when I commute to Durham.

  1. I love the largeness of these photos, Carver. Each one is unique. The angles of skyscrapers, wobbly reflections, the warmth of brick and climbing towers, shifting hovering clouds … and the red sprigs of tall flowers in ever changing weather.

I checked out your other site, too. My photos aren’t larger in blogger but for some reason “Compose” no longer keeps paragraph spacing. So I'm left wondering if this has happened to others.

  7. Wow, lots of lovely!
I especially like the skies over the railroad tracks. White fluffy clouds dotting a blue background is my favorite kind of day.

  15. This is an impressive collection of fine shots. Love those smokestacks, all the red brick, and the railroad tracks. The reflections in that one shot - the modern building - are awesome. The skies are all beautiful, but my eye were stuck on the buildings. Loved them.

  30. Thank you for being so candid. I am so very glad you are 'clear'.
Life is not always easy, i am doing quite well with my new heart valve but not quite so well with my husband's progressing dementia. It is painful to see him with more and more moments of confusion.
Age is taking it's toll as well, I can no longer tend my garden as I always have through thick and thin but eventually we have to let all things go, so this is just another step in the learning to do so.

    Love . . . Arija
