SkyWatch Friday: Sunset and Moonrise

Sometimes I forget to check on the sunset when clouds are moving in and storms threaten.

I almost missed this sunset but was glad I didn't as the incoming storm and setting sun made a dramatic combination.

A few days after the sunset above I caught a beautiful rising moon on a clear afternoon.

Then after it was dark I managed a night shot of the moon.

  2. Lovely, mystical shots of the moon, Carver. I noticed a full moon last night, too, outside my door. It seemed fitting after seeing the lunatic behavior of people out on the streets of Vancouver after the Vancouver Canucks lost the Stanley Cup.

  18. I must admit I am a bit jealous of our night shot of the moon. I have had little luck shooting full moons here at home, though at the beach with the use of a tripod, I did pretty well. These photos are lovely...especially the first tow showing the sun meeting up with the storm. Amazing captures. genie

  20. That second sunset shot is really something,as though the surrounding leaves were about to grab the sunset and carry it away to some unknown place. Just think, no more sunsets.
