That's My World Tuesday: Little Red Bridge

One of the trails along Crabtree Creek (Raleigh, NC, U.S.) has a little red bridge.

I'm not sure why this is the only trail near my house with a red bridge like this.

It also has the styles of bridges that are common on the other parts of the greenway system but it stands alone, to my knowledge, for having the red bridge.

I'm amazed at just how low the water level is here because this is an area prone to water overflowing the banks. These shots are all from a Thursday morning walk on June 30.

I was glad I looked out at the water when I stood on the bridge above because I had my first summer siting of a great blue heron.

I got some shots of the herons at Shelley Lake in May but haven't seen any in June.

They are probably still in protected parts of the Shelley Lake system with their young but this one was fishing at the creek about two miles from the Shelley trails.

I didn't see it catch any fish although it seemed to be looking for them.

I think this part of the trail system has more bridges than almost any I walk on.

There is something very magical to me about foot bridges.

I didn't even photograph all the ones I crossed but this is a representative sampling.

The last bridge is a boring road bridge but I like the reflection. I'm glad I'm not walking up there. I was standing on a foot bridge pointing my camera up to the road bridge.
