This is one of those shots that didn't work well at all in color because the lighting wasn't great for full color. However, I thought it was effective in black and white. I was standing on a bridge looking down at the water but the shadow makes the water look like ground, at least to me.

ReplyDeleteExcellent composition and choice for black and white.
ReplyDeleteRegards!
I agree with you, and I like the way you range from very dark to very bright without losing detail.
ReplyDeleteIt turned out to be a great composition in b&w with lines and light :)
ReplyDeleteA great shot in b&w - I had to study the picture and read your description to understand it.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great photograph, what interesting shadows.
ReplyDeleteYep, B&W works well for this photo. Nice detail and tonality.
ReplyDeleteThis is a brillian shot! Turning it to mono is just perfect ;)
ReplyDeleteThe black and white is great, but I also love the way the picture makes me feel as if I'm standing there looking down.
ReplyDeleteIt is a great photo, the way shadow runs diagonally across the shot, the birds, very well taken.

ReplyDeletevery interesting composition.
ReplyDeletelove the contrasts in this photo...enjoy your weekend:-)
ReplyDeletewhat a great b/w-photo - I love the shadows.
ReplyDeleteI can see that color would detract from the story, which is the lines, the shadow, the textures. And yes, I also see ground, not water.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool composition....I really do like it. The monochrome medium is perfect for this one. Love seeing you in the image. Great capture. genie
ReplyDeleteI love the ducks :) Cool shadows, too!
