Shooting my sundials for an S word I also captured my squeaky swing as well as shadows.
This sundial is situated correctly and keeps splendid time.
This sundial is two hours fast and needs to be settled into a better position.
My sundials used to sit on top of my deck wall until I started growing vines over it. You can see the shadows of the vines that haven't lost all of their leaves yet for winter.
What a great sundial, Carver!! ours is on an exterior wall, mainly for decoration. Happy ABC!
ReplyDeleteS is for ...
Great "S" shot. Love the sundial, shadows and that squeaky swing has character. We have a sundial too, but not much good this time of year as you need sun and we haven't had much.
ReplyDeleteOh cool! I've always wanted a sundial.
ReplyDeletethis is sunsational info. a sundial that runs fast; hadn't occurred to me.

Funny, I always wanted a sundial in my yard. I just never got around to getting one as I don't see them here. Your porch and swing looks so inviting!
ReplyDeleteCool! Wish I had one of those sundials. Have a superb week,

What a sweet post for "S". You have a lovely porch, even if the swing is squeaky.
ReplyDeleteAhh the beauty of charm! Your porch is it. I love swings. Your sundial is intriguing with its speed. Thanks again for showing us the beauty around you.
ReplyDeleteA lovely collection of sun dials. Does time pass slowly when you are out relaxing in the squeaky swing?
ReplyDeleteVery neat shadows.
ReplyDeleteShoes, have a happy Thanksgiving!
I love sundials (don't have one though - yet!) What a special post for S week, with your squeaky swing, sundials and shadows (and don't forget those Scattered leaves!) Your deck looks like a very serene and inviting place to sit and relax.
ReplyDeleteI too had no idea sundials could run fast - can they run slow, too? (Don't reckon they need to be reset for Daylight Saving Time, though!) :-)
In summer I would love to sit on this old bank and watch the sundials ! But I doubt that I can read them, I never tried.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful! For the "S" meme and also just because I adore the sundial -- they are just charming. I wonder if one would work in Florida?
