ABC Wednesday: B is for Bunny

Big boisterous bunnies bound across my yard in the summer.

Bunnies like weeds better than cultivated plants in my experience.

It is funny how sometimes bunnies in my garden will almost seem to avoid the flowers.

I was serious about them preferring weeds. Even when I grew carrots and lettuce, the bunnies would munch down on weeds and ignore the vegetables.

  1. How wonderful - as long as they don't eat your veggies or flowers!

I always think of Watership Down...

  3. We've been in this house for more than 10 years, but we still love to see the local bunnies. For years, we pretended there was only one, which we named "Bun" but, of course, there are several of them.
Always guaranteed to be great subjects for photos, though, aren't they?

  7. They really are so cute, but here in my village, we have such an abundance of them we have to have them relocated to a forested area. Near the hospital area, they've counted 400-500 of them!

  9. I love your bunnies! I see them in my yard sometimes but they never stay around long enough to photograph. Yours are cooperative and I'm glad they like your weeds better than the blossoms.

  11. Love these bunny photos … they are so adorable. But I do feel sorry for the one in the first photo as he looks a little thin. I bet he’s fast, though!

  18. I have always love bunnies. All the Beatrice Potter books of Peter Rabbit, Benjamin Bunny, etc, etc. Also a very favorite is the "Velveteen Rabbit"...

Your "real" rabbit so reminds me of the story of the Velveteen Rabbit becoming real after being so so well.

    Thanks for delightful pictures.

  19. Hi Carver, oooh I love your bunnies. And it is interesting that they prefer weeds over your other more appealing plants. Great choice for B and a wonderful bunny photo collection.

  21. Cute little things, aren't they! Amazing that they don't care for flowers as much as weeds. That's good.
