I thought one way to look back through the Years was to pick a shot from my first recreational walk of each of the years, beginning with 2008.
The shot above was taken on the first day of the year 2008 (if you used the Gregorian Calendar). Years are somewhat arbitrary with a variety of calendars but living in the western part of the world, I use the Gregorian Calendar.
The shot above was taken on the first day of the year 2009. The shot below was taken on the first day of the year 2010.
The year of 2011 began with lingering snow left from December 2010, followed by ice and messy weather. Therefore, the shot below of my first recreational walk of 2011 was taken on January 16 of that year. The lake was frozen but the paths were mostly clear by that day.
The first day of this year, 2012, was perfect for walking and the shot below was therefore taken on January 1, 2012.

I love the series you've posted. It's a nice way to remember the first of each year and the weather that comes with it!

ReplyDeleteVery refreshing photos.
ReplyDeleteYouth is my Y, have a great year of the dragon.
Excellent capture of the bird in flight.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for a post -- I always love seeing your walks and it was neat to see ones from the years before I started dropping by. A great idea to take a picture the first of the year. Definitely one for my 'wish I'd thought of that' mental file!
