The Weekend in Black and White: Downtown Durham, NC
This house sits in a part of Durham, NC that is mostly office buildings and parking lots. I find it charming but wish the car hadn't been in the driveway.
Your photo of the heritage home reminds me of a classic black and white movie where shadow adds atmosphere to the scene. The big tree frames the house perfectly and had the modern car not been parked there, this picture could have been taken decades ago. Lovely shot, Carver, I have a feeling you will be taking its picture again someday. :)

ReplyDeleteIt does make a beautiful picture.
ReplyDeleteLove these style houses; would love one with a covered porch, a rocker and an outside beer fridge. Retirement, love it.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. The car seems ruin the vintage old look of the house. Awesome shot!

ReplyDeleteIt is great for black and white..I keep forgetting about participating..
ReplyDeleteYes, the driveway should have sported a bent over figure with swishing black coat and homburg, to complement the style of house.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty someplace, and the reflections in the second floor windows area great. Sorry about the car, but it is still a wonderful shot. genie
