SkyWatch Friday: Much to See

There has been a great deal to see in the sky lately.

Most days when I go outside, except when it's raining, I notice new cloud formations.

March 9 was a very clear evening with a sky full of stars. I think the shot below is of Saturn. It was very vivid so I zoomed in when I spotted it when I looked west around 11:00 pm. Please correct me, if I have identified it incorrectly.

When I looked east I spotted the full or almost full moon, at around the same time.

Before long I managed to capture the moon after the tree released it.

Shortly before sunset on another night I took the shot below.

After a little while the colors started moving in.

One more shot from around sunset.

I've been taking a lot of shots of the new growth on trees.

This is such a fun time of the year for looking up.

The next shot was taken when the sun hid behind a cloud.

My redbud trees are blooming.

Even mostly grey skies have their own beauty.

I was struck, in the next shot, by how my roof matched the flowers in the tree.

I think the gray cloud below looks like it has floppy ears.

Another shot of my redbud tree.

My posts seem to be getting longer and longer, even though I keep thinking I'll try to pick just one shot for skywatch. Instead I picked a zillion.
skywattrDSCN8260
Maybe next week I'll be able to pick just one.

  4. I like how you show us a variety of sky throughout the day.

Nothing to see up in the sky out here. It's all grey. It's been raining since Tuesday and I hear it will persist until the weekend.

Enjoy the rest of the work week.
