We are continuing with a mixed bag in terms of the weather.
Sometimes when clouds open up a slice of blue it almost makes me think of continents separating.
Other times the blue between shifting clouds makes me think of a swimming pool.
I love to watch fast moving clouds to see what will come next.
I managed to catch the full moon this month.
The koklwitzia blossoms against a blue sky make me smile. A little ampelopsis is growing near the kolkwitzia which is why there are different leaves. The kolkwitzia leaves are the all green ones.
I like the way the kolkwitzia limb makes a horizontal line with blossoms below.
I wish I knew what variety the cherry tree below is. The blossoms are tiny and so are the tiny cherries that come later. The birds love to eat them. The tree below, as well as others like it, are volunteers in my yard. They are fast growing and I've let several become large trees because they provide food the birds like.
Below is another moon shot. This one was taken the day after the full moon date.
The wind was blowing hard and I took a bunch of shots of the swaying branches.
The next shot shows how much less visible sky I have in my yard, now that most of the trees are leafing out. In the winter, I'd be able to see the cardinal against the sky instead of the sea of green.
I'll finish with one more windy day shot.

Our apple trees here are just starting to blossom and I love the cardinal hiding in the tree.

Beautiful post!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
ReplyDeleteI just love that you let the volunteers grow b/c the birds love the berries -- you are certainly eligible for one of those bird-friendly yard signs that I've seen a few times. Oh -- and your plants, volunteer and otherwise, all look just wonderful against your beautiful blue skies. Don't you sometimes just want to float away on those fluffy clouds?
ReplyDeleteThat is impressive!

Beautiful shots. After an incredibly dry March, we're finally getting occasional rain and snow in April, and that's a very good thing.
