ABC Wednesday: T is for Tire

Tired tires with low tread make good tire swings.

To me it looks like the dogs are considering trying out the tire swing behind the fence below.

  1. Yes we do find such innovative swings in rural India too !

  2. Tire swings have a way of adding homey charm to a yard and takes us back to a slower paced era when cars were used less and backyards were used more. That last picture made me smile as it really does look as if the dogs are about to take a swing on the tire. :)

  11. They sure do make great swings - I used to love them, although they would leave rings on my thighs if I had been wearing shorts!

  12. When we were kids, my Dad had a huge tire that we'd float in the ocean at the beach and then we'd all hop on and have lots of fun!

  17. Lovely, - we always had a tire swing when the children were growing up, and then later for the grandchildren, - it hung from an enormous willow tree.

  18. My dad built us wooden swings with THICK, scratchy (but much appreciated) ropes to hold them. We loved those swings, but i do remember thinking tires would be neat. Not a deprived childhood, though, since we did swing from a tire to drop into the local swimming hole. Fun post!

  21. Thanks for info about Butterfly weed. May be it is only in North America. We have the swan plants for butterflies. Some one says they ( swan plant)are milk weed, but the flowers are completely different.

I didn't realise there is a meme for Today's flowers. I love flowers, I should check it out. I just found out about Camellia oil and how expensive it is. Got me excited and joke with my friend that we could process our own oil.

In 2 houses, I lived there were beautiful hydrangeas.

I like your blogs, they are like mine, a bit of everything.
