After awhile a brown thrasher chased her out.
The American Robin wasn't too happy with the small bath, particularly since most of the water had been used and I was waiting for them to leave before refilling the baths.
She decided to go ahead and jump in and both birds had baths for a little while.
Next the American Robin went back to the larger bath and briefly got the Brown Thrasher out so they could discuss who got the large bath.
The Brown Thrasher won the debate.
The American Robin made do with the small bath.

aww, i was routing for both of them to share but i guess that's asking a bit much. your pics are great. hope all is well~

ReplyDeleteThis was a very enjoyable read, with high drama and wonderful photographs to bring the story alive. As Penelope noted, it takes someone "in tune" to catch these fascinating glimpses of how nature's laws work.
ReplyDeleteI am tempted to title it The Birdbath Drama! I love the way you posted it, there was even a discussion ha! And they didn't even know someone is attentively watching and documenting.
