A drab and dreary day at Duke University in Durham, NC.
The shots in this drip drop post are from different seasons.
Sometimes dreary days create an atmosphere I like.
Part of Duke University has the Gothic style architecture which lends itself to dreary days.
The rain drops still linger on my storm door but the rainbow shows up beyond it.

Last, a deluge of a downpour of rain dropping on my deck.

I visited my alma mater, New Paltz, just yesterday, and the back of the Old Main looked very much like that building at Duke!

ReplyDeleteYou've taken some really wonderful photos on a rainy day. I enjoyed the one on your deck at the end and loved the blue berries with the droplet, but all the photos in between were great too.

ReplyDeleteI would dearly love to see some rain here in So Cal but if it arrived right now lightening would be a real brush fire danger ...so we wait.
I enjoyed you reply about warming on my blog,I dislike stores that feel like meatlockers too! I do not use either AC or central heat as I live in a 60 year old home with a gas floor heater and a Swamp cooler in the window. At least I feel I am not a part of the problem.
I love the first shot, Carver, but they're all excellent. I've never been good at rain photos, even though I spent most of my life on the wet west coast of Canada.

ReplyDeleteThat first shot of the berries was exquisite in its simplicity, the way you see it, as the water clings, not letting go. Dreary days are hard on me, but I imagine if I had walking distance access to stone buildings, which do look better in the gloom, I'd probably get out more! Thanks, Carver! Peace, Amy
