There is something so mysterious about a forest photographed in black and white and the shadows that play such a key role in projecting the mood. Maybe this is why the old movies capture our imaginations even today. These photos are a nice contrast to the brilliant sunset sinking in the horizon out your bedroom window in your previous post. :)
I'd pick the second one, but I couldn't tell you why. You always pick the best subjects for B&W -- things I wouldn't think would make good photos that way and yours always do!!
