ABC Wednesday: Y is for Year

I took the photograph below yesterday on the last day of the year, 2012. I can almost hear the cormorant say yum yum after catching a treat on a cold morning. The shallower part of the lake had a thin coating of ice but in spite of the deep part being liquid I would have yelled yikes if I jumped in.

    Happy New Year! I think what you caught is a grebe or cormorant rather than a duck :)
