The ducks don't seem to mind walking on the ice.
So far this winter the lake has only been frozen in the shallow parts during some mornings. The past two winters have been fairly mild. I'm sure the mallards (ducks) are happier with milder winters.

We have some mallards here all winter. They don't mind ice as long as they can still find water. :)
ReplyDeleteI love that last shot and the reflection!
ReplyDeletedashing thru the ice. oh that we all could!
ReplyDeleteLove the reflections!

ReplyDeletelike the icy reflection!
ReplyDeleteNice ducks. My daughter has a pet Mallard duck that serves as a watch duck. It always lets you know if someone comes to the house with a loud quack, quack, quack, quack.
ReplyDeleteMy post this week at An Arkies Musings is about the TV show Duck Dynasty
So that's where the term "Duck Walk" came from..HaHa. Enjoyed the pictures, and a smile or two.

ReplyDeleteGreat ones for 'D'. :)

ReplyDeleteI do love the reflections--something they don't see everyday.

I especially like the last one.
ReplyDeleteThose ducks must not have much feeling in those webbed feet to walk around on the ice like that.
ReplyDeleteAs the song goes, "Nice weather for ducks," at least a couple of the shots. I always feel bad for little ducks on the ice, even though I know they couldn't care less! Peace, Amy
