SkyWatch Friday: February Begins

February has started with beautiful skies in my neck of the woods.

I love it when clouds paint against blue sky.

So far we've had more blue in the sky for February than in any other month.

When I say any other month I'm going back into 2012.

I've mentioned this before but after we had a drought in 2007 and 2008, I thought I'd never tire of rain.

The past 18 months or so have begun to change my mind.

I'd rather have too much rain as opposed to too little but I've begun to relish blue skies.

When I say blue sky, I don't mean solid blue necessarily.

A touch of blue peeking through clouds is enough to satisfy me.

I like the way the sunrise lit up the tree below.

It made the tree look almost red.

I guess rust would be more accurate than red.

The shot below as well as the 7th, 8th and 9th shots were also at sunrise.

The next two shots were taken the same day later in the morning.

The cotton batting style clouds are my favorites.

The next shot was still the same day but this time at sunset.

The cedar waxwing below was hanging out in my crepe myrtle tree on another day.

The shadow hid the American Robin's red breast in the next shot.
