I thought the shot below outside of the NC Museum of History worked well for H week.
The shot above was of wedding transportation that I spotted and the shot below was taken another time outside of the NC Museum of History. The handsome statues are historical figures.
did you say the horse wasn't real? I thought you were talking about the figures in the 2nd image. I love history, but really it is no longer taught in many grades. Social Studies which neither lends toward history or geography so both those subjects lack substance in Soc. Studies. sad state of affairs for education...:(
Museums about History are always interesting. The artefacts and also the ordinary household articles can show us how people used to live. Thanks for sharing. Wil, ABCW Team.
Thanks to everyone for visiting. The first shot of the mule and carriage were real. They had a wedding party in traditional robes of their native country and they just happened to be outside of the museum. The second shot is of the statues.
Carver, fabulous museum, even from the outside! Loved these. Amy http://sharplittlepencil.com/2013/03/07/african-mothers-ferocious-love-for-two-shoes-tuesday/

Beautiful shots, love the b/w in the first one.
ReplyDeleteI am back after a long hiatus :)
Cheers!
H is for...
Lovely shots. I really thought that the horse & cart were for real !
ReplyDeleteWow, I thought the horse and cart were real too.
ReplyDeleteThe museum is so open and inviting -- no dusty old remnants like so many historical museums I've seen. I'd want to visit if I were there.
ReplyDeleteWe as a nation have such little respect for learning from history; it frustrates me...

I haven't visited a single museum last year and I promised to visit at least one this year.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Carver!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful photos.
I send greetings.

A very interesting looking building.
ReplyDeleteoh c'est trop bien ces statues debout...
ReplyDeleteBoth are classic shots!
ReplyDeleteI too mistook the horse carriage for real one from recent days.
ReplyDeletegreat ..like the first pic
ReplyDeleteThe juxtaposition of the horse and cart against the modern face of the building is particularly effective. Fabulous job!
ReplyDeleteThe monochrome image does go well with the theme of history.
ReplyDeleteHow fortunate you were to happen on the wedding party. The statues are a great way to intrigue, I love museums, large or small.
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas for H! Love the photo of the carriage!
ReplyDeleteOh very handsome figure and I love the horse and cart (especially in monochrome)!
