The Japanese Magnolia is always the first tree to flower in my neighborhood in Raleigh, NC. The downside is that these blooms usually have freeze damage. It's supposed to get down to 25 F (-3.88 C) tonight which is common here since our last freeze date is usually in mid to later April.

The beautiful first signs of spring. I am greeting

ReplyDeleteGorgeous photo! We have a Japanese magnolia in our front yard that blooms about July here in Eastern Canada - magnolia sieboldii or Oyama. Not as showy as the pink ones, but still very nice.
