ABC Wednesday: C is for carving

I'm not very good at carving in spite of my name being Carver. I have knives for cutting, chopping, carving and crushing which I use before and after cooking on occasion.

  1. I like the wear on the handles - well used and well loved I would think!

  4. Cool...I just read the intro to ABCW about your name. I always thought it was either your last name or something else meaningful to you. Now I know! And I love how you've incorporated your name into the cutting tools!

  5. It's great that you cook--many people just decide to eat out.Looks like you are well equipped to carve anything.

  7. Thanks for sharing your name in the introduction. That's fascinating.
I'm not too good at carving either, but one really needs the proper knife and it has to be sharp.

  10. Yes, those knives look like they've had a lot of use. I have some which belonged to my grandparents — I was going to say "my grandmother" but, although my grandfather didn't cook, he did carve.

  11. Some of those knives look wonderfully old! My two favorite paring knives are old ones from some family members. I use them almost all the time!

  14. I find carving difficult except when I use my electric knife...it carves a roast, turkey, anything edible like it was butter!
