I'm not very good at carving in spite of my name being Carver. I have knives for cutting, chopping, carving and crushing which I use before and after cooking on occasion.
Cool...I just read the intro to ABCW about your name. I always thought it was either your last name or something else meaningful to you. Now I know! And I love how you've incorporated your name into the cutting tools!
Thanks for sharing your name in the introduction. That's fascinating. I'm not too good at carving either, but one really needs the proper knife and it has to be sharp.
Yes, those knives look like they've had a lot of use. I have some which belonged to my grandparents — I was going to say "my grandmother" but, although my grandfather didn't cook, he did carve. K
Thank you so much for your comments. I read and appreciate any and all comments. If I delete a comment it is only because I'm trying to deal with a lot of spam. If I delete a comment which isn't spam, it's an accident so please accept my apology.
NOTE - I have recently had issues where some comments don't show up in my blog but I am receiving all of them through email. The blooger hiccup seems to be fixed but I'm going to leave this note up so I don't jinx it.
I like the wear on the handles - well used and well loved I would think!

It's great that you cook--many people just decide to eat out.Looks like you are well equipped to carve anything.

Some of those knives look wonderfully old! My two favorite paring knives are old ones from some family members. I use them almost all the time!

ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not!! ;) Being a vegetarian I can make do with just one knife in my kitchen!! :D

Good carving tools sure do come in handy!
ReplyDeleteI find carving difficult except when I use my electric knife...it carves a roast, turkey, anything edible like it was butter!
ReplyDeleteIntriguing
ReplyDeleteCarving is challenging for me too.
