ABC Wednesday: G is for guessing game

My guess from a distance was that the neighborhood children had drawn a hopscotch board on the sidewalk for a hopping game.

When I got closer I wasn't sure what the game was but it definitely wasn't hopscotch.

The first two shots are from last week and are only a small portion of the drawings I spotted along the sidewalk.

The third through last shots were taken this Monday and this group looked like perhaps they were playing a safety game.

The children and parents weren't outside when I spotted these sidewalk games so your guess is as good as mine as to what game, if any, they were playing.

  1. Unfortunately we don't have sidewalks out here where we live...unless of course, we head into the nearby town for groceries! Great pix of imaginations at use!...:)JP

  3. As a child I used to love drawing on the sidewalk.
The nice thing was it could be washed off and begun again.

  6. Makes me happy to know kids still enjoy the old-fashioned pleasures that don't involve computers or hand-helds.

  9. Maybe they were just having fun reinforcing what they've been learning at school. It's a great way for kids to visualize discussions from school. Lots of great artwork there.

  19. Drawing with chalk was always a favorite of mine when I was a kid. Maybe these kids were playing a street traffic game, because they can't wait to grow up and drive their own cars. ;)
