Nature Notes: Natural Lawn Mowers

Canadian Geese pitch in to mow grass the natural way. They also provide nature's own fertilizer which isn't necessarily all good until the manure has broken down over time.

  3. Oh yes -- reminds me of Oregon where I definitely have a love/hate relationship with the many Canada geese that surround us, because of the fertilizer that happens. But they are beautiful proud birds.

The duplicate comments on my blog are not your fault. Typepad was hit with some horrible denial of service attackes and they have apparently had a few glitches in getting back on line.... I can (and will) delete the duplicates. Thanks for visiting --

  4. Oh they will not be safe if they are here! Those droppings are so very very minute as fertilizers, maybe negligible to the needs of the grasses.

  5. Geese are so beautiful in the sky... but on the ground, people cannot stand them! I, for one, appreciate their useful production... if only they would realize that "grass doesn't grow on a busy sidewalk," lol.

Carver, many thanks for your kind words regarding the passing of Riley's friend Nina. I'll be around more now, but needed some time to collect myself. Peace, Amy

Thank you so much for your comments. I read and appreciate any and all comments. If I delete a comment it is only because I'm trying to deal with a lot of spam. If I delete a comment which isn't spam, it's an accident so please accept my apology.

NOTE - I have recently had issues where some comments don't show up in my blog but I am receiving all of them through email. The blooger hiccup seems to be fixed but I'm going to leave this note up so I don't jinx it.
