Nature Notes: Heron keeping an eye on the dam water regulator

May has been a relatively pleasant month with a lot of weather variations. We've had a few hot days but mostly moderate temperatures and even some chilly nights which I like. I hope June will be moderate for me and for the wildlife.

    Great shot! He does look a little lonely though. The weather here is bizarre, 91 degrees today and it's only May!
