Nature Notes and Our World: Signs of Fall Begin


Although we still have mostly summer greens in my neck of the woods we're beginning to have a few trees wearing early fall colors.

 We drove across town to Johnson Lake for a Sunday walk instead of walking at the lake in my subdivision.

 The humidity was intense but fortunately there was a breeze and the air temperature was pleasant in the morning.

 There were a bunch of mallards hanging out at the lake.

 I'm reminding myself to enjoy the greens since apart from evergreens they will be gone soon.

 This time of the year I focus on any leaves that have changed colors.

 My porcelain vines have tons of berries.

    How pretty early Fall is around your area. I am not familiar with porcelain vines, but now I wish I were! Lovely .

    Lovely images, Carver.. The walk at the lake looks nice. I have not heard of porcelain berries..they are a pretty color.. Enjoy your week!

    I never heard of this vine...are the berried edible?

    I too love the change of seasons and the colors of trees...but our time is in December...we're still in the midst of Summer even tho the calender tells me otherwise.

    Like you, I am drinking in the green as all too soon it will all be brown. So lovely to see your autumn leaves. Although my spring is spectacular, I do so love autumn.
