Today's Flowers: Bent down and not bouncing back

After being beaten down by snow and ice the earliest narcissus didn't get a chance to bounce back.

We had a warm up followed by cold rain and then a big drop in the temperatures but the rain tapered off with only a little freezing rain Thursday night.

Even so the lenten rose above (helleborus) and narcissus (1st and 3rd shots) look even worse now than they did when I took these shots on March 4 which was a spring day before winter returned on March 5.

I have a lot of narcissus and daffodils bulbs that are safely underground and mulch so there's still hope for April. Click for the home of Today's Flowers

  4. Oh, nothing here has had any chances to bloom yet. Started to see under the snow piles today. I like your daffodils - hope you get a few more.

  5. That always seemed to happen to our daffodils when we gardened in Oregon. You look forward to them for so long and then after about a week a hard rain knocks em down.

    Yours are still pretty tho.

NOTE - I have recently had issues where some comments don't show up in my blog but I am receiving all of them through email. The blooger hiccup seems to be fixed but I'm going to leave this note up so I don't jinx it.
