This is a mix of late December 2015 and early January 2016 shots

We've had crazy mixed up weather.

December ended with spring stormy weather that wasn't a bit like winter.

I was glad that the new year has given us some chilly clear days.

I know there have been a lot of extremes all over the U.S.

Some places have had strong winter storms and others warm weather like we've experienced.

I hope it will stay cool for awhile here.

There are already some very confused trees and flowers.

As fun as it is to see buds and flowers in winter that usually isn't great for spring.

A few flowers here and there are o.k. that fall off in winter but it's when buds get too far along that I worry.

The shot below that I took today is a good example of what I don't like to see too much of in early winter because I expect most of those buds are too far along to survive until spring.

It was chilly and seasonable again but the Japanese Magnolia above got going in spring mode from the previous week of spring weather.

We've been going back and forth between spring and winter weather for at least five weeks.

I hope everyone had a good holiday and new year ahead.
Great photos. We've had weird spring/winter/spring/winter weather too - right now I think we are in winter - frost everywhere and getting so thick it looks like snow. Loved all the photos!!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Carver.... I worry about early blooming plants and confused wildlife..
ReplyDeleteFantastic photos !!
ReplyDeleteCarver, I wish you a wonderful New Year !!
Happy 2016 to you. Hope it'll be one with plenty of blue skies and beautiful bird spottings! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, it has to be hard to enjoy those beautiful buds knowing they won't survive when the inevitable cold hits... It's probably confusing bird behavior too. But your pictures are wonderful...I absolutely love that first reflection ornament. Couldn't be more perfect symbolism for reflecting on the past and looking forward . Happy New Year!
ReplyDeletethat shot of the moon is wonderful, makes me want to go there.
ReplyDeletehave a wonderful new year.
Super photos Carver! How lovely to decorate outside trees with baubles. I especially liked the big silver ornament but enjoyed them all. Thanks for stopping by my blog when I was on vacation. Happy New Year :)
