The ferns above are looking much better than they usually do in August.

The deer was playing peekaboo with me.

It has been a much better summer than we usually have in terms of not being too hot.

I was afraid it would be stormy while I was at the beach but it turned out better than expected.

There were some showers but it would stop at crucial moments like walking time.

And sunset time . . .

for lighted paths across the sound . . .

and moon rise with a lighted path across the ocean . . .

I managed to have plenty of times for photography both while walking and sitting on the balcony.

There was even a blue sky on the sound side for breakfast at a Topsail restaurant.

There was less blue on the ocean side for walking but I love clouds.

I never got a shot of the pelicans dive bombing for food. This one settled way out in the ocean with his back turned.

I like the way the blue strip added an accent to the clouds over the dunes.

The only problem with a week off work is as it draws to an end I realize I should have taken two.

I may take a longer vacation this fall.

I even managed to avoid the news which is a very good thing stress wise although I am unfortunately caught up now.
Beautiful green walk and a vacation on the ocean! What could be better. Such nice pictures, I feel like I've been on vacation. We haven't been to the Oregon Coast yet -- soon I hope.
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard to ignore the news these days what with our phones and ipads and all that. You used to be able to just not look at the paper or turn the radio on.
That shot of the deer is awesome! Re the photos taken at the shore: would those shores be in the Outer Banks?
ReplyDeleteNice to see that you are taking a short breather in the beach. The water looks warm.

One week wings by so quickly, doesn't it? All terrific shots of a beautiful region and a deer that captured my heart. I agree we need to take a break from the news as it’s feeling more and more like a load of work keeping up!
