This week I thought I would show you some of the photographs I've taken of my world during the first seven days of March, 2010.The robin above makes me think of spring. Although there are robins in my world year round, I always see a lot more of them out and about in the spring and summer.
The brown thrashers (bird above) become very noisy as we move towards spring. I suppose they are calling out for mates.
The cardinals (male above) also raise quite a ruckus this time of year in my world.
We had a very light snow on Wednesday but not enough to threaten many of the early flowers.
My neighbor's red and white camellia is starting to bloom. My white camellias usually bloom when my neighbor's do but this year the white buds are still very tight and show some winter damage.
Some of the trees are starting to bud and even a few are beginning to flower.
The hawk is frequently swooping above me looking for prey. At least I think that's a hawk below. He was pretty far away so hard to get a very good close-up.
Every day there are more signs of spring which I love to see. It's feels like my world is coming to life.
I particularly like the way I can look up or down or straight ahead and something new awaits my discovery of its presence.
I am not eager for summer's heat but a little spring warmth is welcome.
