ABC Wednesday: J is for Jonquil

Jonquil is a tone of the color yellow and is also used as a name for narcissus (daffodil is another name for some narcissus).

Jumping jilly there sure are a lot of jonquils in my part of the world this time of year.

The center of the narcissus below is the jonquil color.

  1. These are absolutely beautiful photographs of a common flower signaling spring, Carver! The light behind the first daffodil makes me think I can reach out and grab it.:)

  4. Ah! I learned something. I've read a fantasy novel where all the faeries were named after flowers and one of the characters was named Jonquil.

  13. Seen those flowers somewhere but didn't know or must have forgotten it, they were called Jonquils which sounds like a nice name in fact. Quite honestly sometimes I think they look lovelier and prettier on pictures like these.

  14. I yearn to see the jonquils, - they need a few more sunny days before one can truly say they are visiting.
