SkyWatch Friday: R is for road trip

I have been on a vacation and missed ABC Wednesday this week which was R. In case anyone doesn't know that I can keep up with my ABCs, I thought I'd do an early SkyWatch post and make it Skywatching from my R is for road trip.

The shot above was taken from the road when we were still in North Carolina and the mountains in the distance are the Blue Ridge Mountains.

I'm pretty sure we were still in NC when I took the shot above. The shot below was taken from the road in Virginia.

I'm pretty sure that we'd reached West Virginia when I took the next shot.

The next shot is the New River Bridge which is in West Virginia.

Below is another WV shot. We were staying in Beckley, WV and visited a lot of State and National Parks.

On the way home I snapped a shot of Pilot Mountain which is in NC .

The last shot was taken when we were back in the triangle area of NC and were only a few miles from home.

  3. Your black and white capture of the winding track (previous post below) has the quality of an earlier era and the adventure of not knowing what’s around the bend. It also looks like you had perfect weather during your road trip as you journeyed by lush forests and blue skies where clouds dangled but didn't rain.

  4. Now you are definitely in my neck of the woods. Loved the Smokeys those 29 years I lived in Asheville, but now it is the Blue Ridge for me. We live not too far form the WV line and my husband is going hiking over there this weekend. Love this series of shots. You did a beautiful job with the color and lighting...ester nice captures. I approve 100% :-) Genie
