There seems to be a spurt of interest in deserted buildings at present - I hadn't realised there are so many . . . and they almost always provide lots of shape and interest.
That's an amazing barn! Love the old structures that have "seen" a lot of history! Your sky watch photos are wonderful too. The green landscape against the bright blue sky and sprawling white clouds make these photos look like paintings! *have a very happy weekend* ~Maria

Being from up further north and not having ever seen the coal mining area before. I was really fascinated by it all.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful b&w composition!

I've never seen a coal mining area, either and my first impression was that this is one very tall building.
ReplyDeleteI have seen similar buildings occasionally, but never was able to explain them. Perhaps they had the same use as this one!
ReplyDeleteNice shot, it looks good in b/w.
A great composition. Love the overgrowth surrounding it.

West 'By God' Virginia coal country. You captured the mood well.
ReplyDeleteWow...looks amazing and classic!
ReplyDeleteFascinating building Carver. I'm surprised at how good it still looks. There's so much texture in those walls.
ReplyDeleteB&W adds more moods to the image. Great image.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of the old John Wayne movies :)
