Our World Tuesday: Sunday walk

Nice to have a perfect Sunday morning for a walk.

It was chilly enough so it wasn't too crowded walking around the lake during the morning.

It surprises me that more people don't consider moderately cool mornings to be perfect for walking.

I'm more likely to see more people walking at Shelley Lake (Raleigh, NC, U.S.) when it's too warm for me in the summer.

In spite of relatively recent signs telling people not to feed the wildlife, some people still do.

The gulls were very active.

The gulls usually leave in the later spring to nest somewhere else.

  1. Looks like my kind of day for taking a walk, Carver. Yes, people here feed the birds where there are signs to NOT feed too.

  2. I like the cooler mornings, too, when it is quiet enough to hear the sounds of wildlife amid the water and trees. Such solitude can be healing.

  8. How I miss these kind of weather and landscapes, it will take here at least one month before snow has gone and two months until the lakes are free from ice !
    Wonderful see your photos!

  14. Lovely shots from your walk around the lake. It does seem hard for people to learn feeding the wildlife is bad. I like a day that is not too hot and not too cold for walking. Thanks for sharing, have a happy week ahead!

  15. Great morning for a walk. In our heat wave - 10th successive day over 86F, today we expect 102F!
No way I can go out in that, at 8.30a.m. it was already 92F.
People are odd creatures, they do not believe that signs actually apply to them as well and blithely feed wildlife on factory bread with preservatives and emulsifiers.

  16. What a wonderful place to go walking with your camera in hand. And the skies...you had the same beautiful bright blue skies this week that I had from here in VA. Such a vivid blue. genie
