We had a beautiful day for paddling in a canoe on the New River.
This is the New River in the northwestern NC mountains that flows into the Virginia mountains. There is another New River in NC that is in the southeastern part of the state that empties into the Atlantic ocean but that's a different river.

Wonderful views, I love the spring and I love such views. Greetings

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely area. The butterfly is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteso you have two New Rivers? Maybe one can be Old New and the other new New. Or one can be East New and West New.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures make me want to jump into that canoe and enjoy the New River too.

ReplyDeleteNIFTY photos!!!! Enjoy Spring in your neck of the woods.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful place; I'd love to do that paddle. Two rivers with the same name? Now that's geographically challenging.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous place and excellent photography for N for ABC ~ ^_^
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous, I could stay there forever and a day. (And I love all the shots but especially that last wonderful boat!)
ReplyDeleteYou Never disappoint. :)

Great pictures, Carver! I do miss Virginia and NC. So glad you posted this!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so peaceful there. Love the second photo with the butterfly.
ReplyDeleteCarver, lovely pictures as always. The butterfly, caught with its wingspan perfectly open, was the most beautiful sight. Can't wait for the monarchs and viceroys of the northern states to come back. Ditto the lightning bugs! Amy
ReplyDeleteLooks like a nice place to visit...I ought to go there since we live in Western NC! I love your tiger swallowtail...it's a beauty!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful day to explore the lake.
