I couldn't decide between these two shots for this week's black and white photos.
I took both of these photographs during the same walk. One a little busy but calm in its own way and the second is bare bones.

SkyWatch Friday: Through my bedroom window
I tend to photograph the sky looking out through my bedroom window a lot.
It is an ever changing view depending on when I look out as well as the time of year.

ABC Wednesday: O is for Ominous
Last summer when I was at the beach, the sky over the ocean became increasingly overcast.
I looked in the direction they were coming from and got my first inkling of how ominous the sky looked.
It wasn't long after that before the ominous clouds began moving over the cottages and ending up over the ocean.
As I recall, the storm didn't last long and only produced a small amount of rain.

The Weekend in Black and White: Christ Episcopal Church courtyard
I don't think I've posted black and white shots of the Christ Episcopal Church courtyard in Raleigh, NC before. Although, I may have posted similar color shots.

SkyWatch Friday: A Mixture
The first three shots were taken Wednesday night from my bedroom window.
I enjoyed the progression over about an hour or so.
I took a ton of shots so hard to pick which ones to use.
The streets are starting to have an umbrella of leaves with a little sky peaking through.
I thought the next shot looked like a veil was tossed over the sky.
Then the veil started dancing and looked more like a winged creature.

ABC Wednesday: N is for North Carolina
I thought I'd take you across the State of North Carolina today starting in the eastern part of the state.
North Carolina beaches are on the east coast of the U.S. Moving west from the coast, in the center of the state is the capital of North Carolina which is Raleigh and the shot below shows the capitol building. During colonial times, New Bern (eastern part of the state) was the capital of North Carolina. However, Raleigh has been the NC capital since 1792.
Moving west across North Carolina you come to the NC mountains.
We had some nasty tornadoes in NC, including in Raleigh where I live, this past Saturday. I feel fortunate not to have been personally impacted although of course feel bad for those in my state who were.

That's My World Tuesday: After the Storm
We had a major storm including tornadoes ripping through Raleigh, NC on Saturday but Sunday was a beautiful day for a walk.
I could hear the water gushing out on the side of the dam at Shelley Lake that feeds into a creek before I saw it.
It was astounding what a difference a day makes because Saturday I had hail pounding on my roof and 70 mph winds.
Sunday was gorgeous and the main thing that was noticeable on the trail we walked on was the flooding.
I'm sure it was worse around the lake because those trails have a lot of trouble with flooding.
We were walking downstream from the lake.
I felt very lucky to have come through the tornado safely and there wasn't any damage that I could see in my immediate neighborhood.
Some of the news reports made it sound like the path was very close to me. All I noticed Sunday in my yard and neighborhood was regular storm issues like fallen limbs from trees and a lots of leaves and flower petals.
It was sad reading about people that lost their lives. There were a number of homes and other buildings that were flattened.
I only briefly lost power on Saturday. I still can't get over what a pretty day Sunday was after Saturday's fury.
I guess I'll stop with one last picture.

The Weekend in Black and White: Fenced in
I couldn't get the perfect perspective for this one but I think it works fairly well.

SkyWatch Friday: Hearts butterflies and blooms
I was immediately drawn to these little red hearts against the sky.
Can you spot the butterfly in the cherry tree. It's the first butterfly I've seen this year and I couldn't believe how high it was flying. If you look below in the middle of the picture near the top you might spot it.
I love dogwood trees and the one below is a pleasure of mine.

ABC Wednesday: M is for Mack and More
M is for a Mack truck I spotted almost a mile away. I didn't realize what it was until I got closer.
The next day I spotted a Mazola milk truck moving by with a moo cow leaping.
