ABC Wednesday: P is for Pumpkin
Postscript - I noticed from early comments that it was assumed these are my pumpkins. I should have pointed out that I photographed my neighbor's pumpkins. I used to have multiple pumpkins at Halloween but at this point I don't do much in the way of seasonal decorating.

ABC Wednesday: P is for Peekaboo

The catbird above was playing peekaboo in the mulberry tree and ordinarily I would have gone with the shots when its face wasn't hidden.

Primary among the criterion I used for picking peekaboo shots was part of the animal was hidden like the pretty bluejay above. The neighborhood puss below was peeking out at me from my deck although at this point I keep my gate shut to discourage pussycats from scaring the birds that bathe on my deck.

The pretty swallowtail butterfly was peeking out from the coneflowers and grasses several summers ago when I took that peekaboo shot.

Peter Cottontail was playing peekaboo in my grass several summers ago.

The squirrel was playing peekaboo on my deck wall recently.

My neighbor's cat was playing peekaboo in my primroses recently.

ABC Wednesday: P is for Paved

A pretty maple leaf on a paved park path.
I prefer to walk in wild areas off the beaten path, but paved paths are also pleasant for easy walking.
Walking along the paved path I saw a lot of fall leaves but there are still some trees dressed in summer greens that haven't changed color yet.
Playful shadows dance on the paved path.

ABC Wednesday: P is for pine

A pile of pine cones fell on the path.
The pine cone below found a partially private area in the pine needles.
Sometimes pine needles stick out like pins and prick the skin if you put your body against them.

ABC Wednesday: One post for P and O

I was off last week and missed the letter O. I am catching up with a combined post for this week's P and last week's O. Below is one pigeon which covers two letters with one picture. I took that photograph several years ago at Atlantic Beach, NC.
The rest of the photographs were taken last week in the North Carolina mountains where I enjoyed the great outdoors. The pretty trees had lots of orange leaves.
One shot I took showed a somewhat palatial house. The Moses Cone Manor House may not be a palace but it's not an ordinary primitive mountain retreat either.
For the last photograph, I give you a panoramic view standing at the Manor House fence looking down on the pretty lake.
