For anyone who is interested, below is the full sculpture in the NC Botanical Garden in Chapel Hill. I thought it worked better cropped and played with for WW, since background construction and the fence didn't add to the shot. Note - I am editing this post because I went back to the garden and found out that the name of this piece is Inorganic Evolution Companion and the artist is Joe Kenlan from Pittsboro, NC

That's actually a little creepy. In ancient India there were ascetics who would have themselves walled up like that for (sometimes) years... just an opening at the top for food and one at the bottom for the ... byproducts. They'd remain effectively motionless for whatever time they were in there. Can't imagine...
I agree with mojo. For a split second I thought I was seeing something paranormal. I blame it on the recent paranormal show I've been watching :P

That definitely is an interesting sculpture, but I agree with you -- I like the look of your cropped version better.
