For the first My World post of the new year, I decided I would pick one shot from each month in 2010 and end with a New Year's Day shot for 2011.
The first shot was taken on January 6, 2010 during a walk at Shelley Lake which is near my house in the triangle area of the NC Piedmont. The triangle area includes Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill and the Research Triangle Park as well as Cary, Apex and other small towns.
The second shot is of a blue jay on my deck wall on February 13, 2010. I selected these shots fast out of ones I haven't posted on my blog before, although I've posted some similar ones.
The third shot is of one of my redbud trees and was taken on March 24, 2010. The fourth shot which is below was taken on April the 8, 2010 at the NC botanical garden in Chapel Hill, NC.
The fifth shot was taken on May 9, 2010 at the NC Museum of Art in Raleigh NC.
The sixth shot was taken on June 8, 2010 in my back yard and it's of a carolina wren.
The seventh shot was taken on July 15, 2010 at Atlantic Beach, NC.
The eighth shot was taken on August 21, 2010 at a car show in downtown Raleigh, NC.
The ninth shot was taken on September 5, 2010 at Shelley Lake in Raleigh, NC.
The tenth shot was taken in Blowing Rock, NC at the Moses Cone Estate on October 25, 2010.
The eleventh shot was taken on a walk in my neighborhood on November 13, 2010.
The twelfth shot was taken on December 26, 2010 of a cardinal eating on my deck wall.
By New Year's day the snow had melted as we warmed up considerably and it's raining at the moment. I took the shot of the cardinals and sparrow on my deck wall on January 1, 2011. The ligustrum is an evergreen and provides green in the winter unless it's covered in snow. That varies a lot from winter to winter here. Some winters we get a fair amount of snow others barely any. It's pretty rare for our snow to last very long although some years we do have colder winters than other years.
I hope everyone's year is off to a happy start. Click for the home of That's My World Tuesday.

Lovely review, Carver. I'm pleased that a carolina wren made the "top 12"
A wonderful collection of photos from month to month. I love the cardinals.

This was a great year in review! I wish I's thought of that. Hmmm/ Maybe next year.
Great series of photos. Boom & Gary of The Vermilon River, Canada.
What a brilliant idea, Carver, to review each month of the year. Also, such a variety of subjects. Each month has a different theme. Thanks for sharing this beautiful part of the world. :)
An interesting walk through your year. It is a reminder of how the seasons change.
Beautiful set of shots. Love the variety.
Carver, great post and photos to end the year. They are all beautiful images. I wish you and yours all the best in 2011.
That was a great idea! Wish I'd thought of that. Beautiful photos, I love the blossoms...but then of course this time of the year a breath of spring is always welcomed!
Happy New Year Carver!
