ABC Wednesday: O is for Ominous

Last summer when I was at the beach, the sky over the ocean became increasingly overcast.

The first thing that started me investigating the sky more closely was when the seagulls began flying in an agitated manner over the cottages.

I looked in the direction they were coming from and got my first inkling of how ominous the sky looked.

It wasn't long after that before the ominous clouds began moving over the cottages and ending up over the ocean.

As I recall, the storm didn't last long and only produced a small amount of rain.

The storm clouds are awesome...I'm glad the storm didn't last long. They look like it could have been a mean one.

WoW! What a dramatic sky!! We hardly ever see that kind of thing here. Too much sunny weather and uneventful. I guess that's good!

Awesome storm cloud captures. I could almost feel the heaviness.

WOW. Pictures really can tell a very dramatic story. And I agree with Roger, storms can be cool as long as everyone is safe and secure.

Great post.

What wonderful captures...love the storm clouds. We adore going to the James River park you all visited. It is such a great spot for a hike and a picnic....and that bridge is really impressive. G

Awesome pictures, I love storms, that's the one thing in the prarie's we've been missing the last few years. Just rain, but where's the thunder!

Ominous, overcast - perfectly illustrated by your photos. I like the final picture best of all. Makes me want to go put the kettle on and soon curl up with a nice book. Let it pour! :)
