I've always liked wrought iron fences and gates.
I've read that steel has replaced iron in modern railways but iron is still sometimes found in old tracks. I don't know if the one below is iron or steel but it looks old.

The only Iron I know much about is the one I use to Iron clothes. Nice post for "I" day today.

Yeah, I'd guess the tracks are iron.

Wrought iron is so regal looking.
I love iron too, especially when it gets a little rusty!
Lovely shots - I particularly like the details in the first photo!

Wrought iron is so sturdy and elegant. I hate to see those vinyl imitations.
great post...I also love wrought iron!
A beautiful place. Beautiful fence.
Love your iron for the letter “i.” For me iron means the little green pills I have to take 3 times a day, day after day after day. I like you iron lots more than mine! The photos are beautiful and the ironwork lovely. genie
Beautiful captures! I don't like ironing clothes lol.
Inspector Hector is my letter I. Hope you can drop by!
I, too, like wrought iron - in any shape!
LOVE the perspective of the first shot - looking up. Makes me feel tiny in comparison! Wonderful post!

Well Wanda, I'm with you, - I kind of like ironing, - it has a nice comforting scent as your mind wanders and everything gets smoothed out and neat and tidy.

One could say that iron was very instrumental in building this world! Yes, I too, am a big fan of wrought iron.
We still do a lot of gates in Aluminum with Popular Iron Look. Great photos. Will have to check out that building in Durham some time!
